10 January 2008 - Opening of Expo Silesia!
The opening ceremony was attended by more than 300 people, including representatives of the local government, mayors of major cities situated in Silesia, rectors of universities located in the Silesian and Małopolskie Voivodships; heads of chambers, associations and research institutes from all over Poland, as well as business people.
The opening ceremony was preceded by the 2nd session of the Programme Board of the VIRTOTECHNOLOGY fair.

Honorary patronage of the VIRTOTECHNOLOGY fair was provided by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Michał Kleiber.

The EUROPEJSKI HOTEL in Cracow hosted a meeting held by founders of the Programme Board of the International Fair of Methods and Tools for the Virtualization of Technological Processes VIRTOTECHNOLOGY.
It was agreed that this fair would take place in Expo Silesia on 21-23 October 2008.
