NOVELTY: Kawasaki UniCell, a flexible robotic total station

ASTOR, a supplier of comprehensive solutions, markets a new product which is a mobile robotic total station, Kawasaki UniCell.

The station consists of a sectional rigid base which allows for an easy transport of the cell, and of integrated screens with side and service doors. An integral part of Kawasaki UniCell is an industrial robot Kawasaki FA006E (in welding applications) or FS006E. Owing to a turntable, the cycle time is reduced by half (on one side, the process is going, and on the other side, an operator is disassembling and assembling another detail). In addition, the solution ensures the operator's safety as the panel separating the sides of the turntable and of the enclosure is made of steel, which prevents the robot from crossing its working area. Two cell versions are available; the cell may be equipped with a manual or automatic turntable, depending on the needs. Also, the station has a lighting column and a control panel. This is a universal solution that requires only the accessories of the robot dedicated to a specific application and - ready to work.

Kawasaki UniCell stations were designed to ensure maximum flexibility. It may be adjusted easily to a specific application. Besides, the station may be smoothly carried and quickly fixed in a new place. Such a solution adds to the flexibility of the entire plant and increases production capabilities in a particular stock of machines.

New higher-durability clamp batches are called Longlife. Tests confirmed that the new clamps preserved their properties even after one million clamping cycles. Clamping arms and lever arms are made as chill castings or pressure castings. Clamp subassemblies are galvanized and chromatized to enhance their corrosion resistance. Bolts and sleeves of the joints are hardened and ground. This ensures their proper durability with an increased feed force and a prolonged service life.

The Welders' Training Centre SLV-GSI Polska opened in January 2010. Our courses train welders how to make fillet and butt welds for metals and pipes in all material groups and how to weld with coated electrodes, gas-shielding, and using a non-consumable electrode; we also hold oxygen cutter courses. We have a licence of THE WELDING INSTITUTE, TÜV NORD, TÜV SÜD and BUREAU VERITAS to organize the courses. Moreover, we hold courses and verification of SLV qualifications required for welders who make construction structures to the German market.
We have the most modern training facilities in the region. We provide our trainees with social rooms (toilets, shower rooms, baths and a social room), a lecture hall for a large number of participants along with multimedia equipment, 12 training stations with modern equipment (welding devices by Lincoln Electric, a modern and efficient ventilation by Plymouth) and separate rooms with soundproof booths for grinding and separate gas cutting stations.
Training staff with long experience in welding courses who hold EWE diplomas work for us. Practical classes are conducted by welding instructors with the highest qualifications and with training experience.
