24-26 September 2008
Expo Silesia

The very first RubPlast EXPO Fair of Rubber and Plastics Processing Industries was held from 24 to 26 September 2008 at the new Expo Silesia exhibition centre in Sosnowiec. The exhibition met with much approval from exhibitors and declarations of participation in next year's trade fair - noting above all, the overall high standard of the centre itself, the immense potential of Silesian as well as the friendly and professional service.

The RubPlast EXPO trade fair was an unprecedented event which undoubtedly has already found its first ardent supporters and is set to become a regular event of the annual exhibition calendar.  For the first time  in Poland an event was held which brought   together products, services and technologies from two closely associated processing sectors of rubber  and plastics - the aim here was  too create a  common platform for the exchange of information as well as a place  for the largest business entities from the sectors to meet. And this time in the southern part of Poland.

The exhibition was well supported by an encouraging cluster of 61 exhibitors from countries such as the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Holland. The 3 day exhibition held in the main Silesia Expo exhibition hall in Sosnowiec featured a wide range of equipment and hardware which included machinery and equipment for: rubber and plastics processing, recycling of rubber waste, rubber and plastic, semi and finished products, as well as reinforcing material, resins, elastomers, raw materials and mixtures for the production of rubber and other similar goods.

Around  3200 visitors attended the exhibition, most of who were specialist and professional from the rubber sector. This also included business people interested in making use of the technology on show in their manufacturing works. Beside the standard presentation of products and services visitors could also see fully operational machines in the production cycle. And this is just  how the P&F Wartacz company from Wroclaw featured a fully  operational  mini production line. This particular innovative presentation   was much  admired by the organisers of the event, as at the gala  evening it was the Wartacz Company that received the top distinction for the most interesting display in the trade and commercial category. Summing up company owner Paweł Wartacz said, "We are very pleased and  happy that we've  been given this distinction. The trade fair gave us the chance to conduct very favourable talks, with the real prospect of finalising business transaction for the company".
The exhibition also presented manufacturers and distributor' of IT equipment, training agencies, auditing and certificating institutions from the sector, specialist publications, banks and insurance companies.

All those thirsty  for technical knowledge associated with the   plastics sector had the opportunity to take part in two seminars organised by the Institute of Waste  Management and the Dospel Plastics Company  „..such conferences should be a part and parcel of every trade fair. It gives a wonderful opportunity to exchange remarks and experience" remarked one of the participants.
The Dospel Plastic Company from the city of Częstochowa - the official partner of the RubPlast EXPO  has to be  noted for its significant engagement in the creation of the first  RubPlast EXPO trade show.
Adam Szubert - Manager of the Marketing and IT Department  said: "I consider the first edition a success. The results we have achieved have fulfilled our objectives and expectations.  During the run of the fair we had the opportunity to speak to many potential clients who said they were considering buying equipment, or had already completed a number of deals. We also have the added satisfaction that we can contribute to the development of another event for the sector and can continue to be a partner of the RubPlast Expo trade fair, to which I would like to invite you to".

Right from the onset of the organisational phase the event drew a lot of interest from specialist publications and magazines. And at the show there was no shortage of the sector's leading publishing titles.

The exhibitors and visitors did not hold back their praise for  the organisation and running of the fair: „we've sold everything we brought with us and we're very pleased  with that, what's more we've never managed to do this before and we've been to many trade fair events", assures one of the exhibitors - managing director of the FOMPOL Ltd Company.

And to quote the Expo Silesia company - the organisers of the event. "This was the first edition of this trade fair, so we weren't entirely sure of the outcome, though today, we are certain it has paid off. We are convinced that the steady growth of interest of  both sectors as well as the  approval of visiting guests and exhibitors alike will be reflected in next year's edition RubPlast EXPO 2009, trade fair  is  due to be held  at a similar time  in September".
