The organizers of the Exhibition MINING EXPO visited the Fair Ugol Rossii & Mining in Novokuznetzk. The Fair attracted exhibitors from Russia, Germany, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, China, Ukraine and Poland. All of them were invited to visit our Exhibition MINING EXPO 2008.

The Coal Mining Museum in Zabrze, organizer of the exhibition dedicated to mining emergency equipment, will display its interesting collection of old mining objects. We invite you to visit these exhibitions during MINING EXPO.

MINING EXPO 2008 has been provided with Honorary Patronage from the Minister of Economy, Mr Waldemar Pawlak and from The Minister of the Treasury, Mr Aleksander Grad.
Throughout the Exhibition, conferences will be held, during which issues such as national energy security and the privatization strategy for the Polish mining industry will be addressed. It will be provided with subject-related support from the "Trybuna Górnicza" weekly, co-organizer of the conference.

The Exhibition MINING EXPO 2008, which will be held at the Exhibition Centre Expo Silesia, can be regarded as the largest of the fair events that have ever accompanied the Mining Congress. The number of registered exhibitors amounts to 230, with 18 countries being represented. They will use 20,275 m2 of exhibition space.
Never before has a mining exhibition in Poland attracted such crowds of representatives of this industry from all over the world, with companies from faraway lands such as China, India, Turkey, Mozambique, Nigeria, Iran, and Australia also participating in this event. March 2008

21th World Mining Congress & Expo 2008 was promoted with a stand and a presentation during the largest annual Polish mining conference "School of Underground Exploration" (Szkoła Eksploatacji Podziemnej) organized by AGH University of Science and Technology from Krakow. The conferene gathered the audience of almost 500.

Katowice was the host of conference „Mining 2007" on 12 November, organized by Polish Society for Enterprise Support (Polskie Towarzystwo Wspierania Przedsiębiorczo¶ci). About 200 presidents of the major Polish mining companies among others FAMUR Group, ZZM KOPEX Group, GLINIK Group, REMAG and representatives from Polish world of science took part in it. World Mining Congress & Expo 2008 was promoted there as well.

Members of the Organizing Committee participated in the 26th INTERNATIONAL MINING CONGRESS AND EXHIBIT, which was held on 10-13 October In Mexico. It was attended by about 1,200 participants, in addition to attracting 360 exhibitors. During the scientific sessions, our representatives successfully promoted the World Mining Congress & Expo 2008, which has been scheduled to take place next year.

On 19-21 September 2007 Cracow hosted the Polish Mining Congress. This event was organized under the motto "Energy Security - the Role of Traditional Energy Carriers Today and in the Future" and was a ‘dress rehearsal' before the World Mining Congress 2008. Therefore it obviously promoted the next year's event. In his speech, which was delivered during the Congress opening ceremony, President of Expo Silesia, Tomasz Raczyński, talked about preparations for MINING EXPO and outlined the progress of construction work at the facility EXPO SILESIA. At the stand of the Planning Committee, managers of Expo Silesia also provided information about both the World Mining Congress and MINING EXPO, in the organization of which considerable progress has been made.

The Planning Committee of the 21st World Mining Congress & Expo 2008 prepared its own, excellently located stand at the International Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy KATOWICE 2007. The exhibitors and visitors had an opportunity to receive first-hand news about the World Mining Congress, which will be held
on 7-11 September 2008 in Cracow as well as about MINING EXPO - the exhibition held simultaneously with the Congress, which Expo Silesia will organize on 9-12 September at Expo Silesia.

We would like to inform you that we signed agreements with our partners from India, Africa and Turkey acoording to which a specially designed China, India, Turkish Pavilions together with African Pavilion will be featured as part of the exhibition.

World Mining Congress' International Organizing Committee and Polish Mining Congress' Organizing Committee appointed the Expo Silesia company as the sole organizer of the world mining exhibition MINING EXPO 2008. Exhibition is to be held during the period from 9-12 September 2008.
