On logistics in a complex manner, at the Expo Silesia fair only
Over two thousand visitors came to Expo Silesia on 25-27 May 2010 during the Logistics, Warehousing and Transport Expo and the Rail Transport Fair held at the same time. The majority of guests included specialists from the warehousing, logistics, forwarding and transport sectors, and representatives of supporting IT and telecommunications companies, research and development institutions, universities and colleges and sector-related journals.
This year, the fair showed, e.g. modern warehouse storage equipment, weighing devices, cleaning systems, forklifts, cranes, trucks and delivery vans, magnetic and optical readers, and automatic data identification systems. Beside the exhibitions, visitors could take part in the Forklift Cup competition, that is, a competition for the best forklift operator.
Conferences and presentations
The LOGISTEX Fair was accompanied by the sector conference, "Training of Professional Drivers. The Use of a Simulator in the Context of the Recent Legislation Changes", organized by the Vocational Education Centre CARGO. The participants learnt about the most recent amendments to regulations on training of professional drivers and watched the capabilities of a truck driving simulator. In addition, they took part in the presentation, "Innovative Handling with the Example of the Alterwerder Terminal", organized by the Logistics Students' Association "DIALOG" at the University of Economics in Katowice, and in sessions on the problem of packaging waste recycling in the logistic chain.
The awarded
Awards for the best products and services presented in the Expo hall were received by exhibitors. The Expo Silesia Medal was received by the SkyLogic system with the module for field route optimization OptiLogic, entered for the competition by Benson Consultants Sp. z o.o. A distinction was given to a service which integrates the assembly system with PTS (Production Traceability System), entered by SILS Centre Gliwice Sp. z o.o. The organizers gave an award for the most interesting fair presentation to Skoda Auto Polska.
LOGISTEX 2010 took place together with the Rail Transport Fair SilesiaRAIL EXPO and they were partner events of the Second European Economic Congress. A total of 100 exhibitors from Poland and abroad presented their offers in both events.
